Born in Dumbarton, Scotland

Education
1975-1980 Glasgow School of Art. Graduated BA.(Hons.)1st Class,
1980-1981 Glasgow School of Art. Graduated MA.
1982 Became Freelance Stained Glass Artist.

Teaching Experience and Lectures
Between 1982-84Lectured in Glasgow School of Art in Stained Glass Dept for 2 years.
1994Lecture in the Burrell Museum in Glasgow. Making of the Queen's Park Synagogue windows.
1994 May. Visiting lecturer to the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Lectured on the Making of the Queen's Park Synagogue Windows and The Symbolism of the Queen's Park Synagogue Windows.
1996 Oct. as part of Glasgow Doors Open Day, gave a lecture with Gerry Grams on the Piping Centre Windows. On the same day a lecture on the Strathclyde Bicentenary Windows
1996 Nov. Lecture with Gerry Grams to the Mackintosh Society.
1997 Sep. Lecture in the Queen's Park Synagogue. Doors Open Day.
1998 Feb. Presented the Arts Award Lecture to the Royal Glasgow Philosophical Society.
1998 Feb. Lecture to the Friends of Glasgow Cathedral.
1999 Nov. Two Seminars to architects in the Boston Area.
2000 Jan. Lecture in Queen's Park Synagogue, The Symbolism of the Windows.
2000 Jan. Explanation of the Millenium Window to GAGMA.
2000 Jan. Town and Gown Invitation Lecture in association with The University of Strathclyde and The Herald Newspaper.
2007 Apr. Stained Glass in Scotland: Who Cares? Joint SSGS/SCHR Day Conference, Edinburgh.

Awards
1988 Jan. Was presented with 2 awards from the Saltire Society for Art in Architecture.
1990 Aug. Awarded a Saltire Society Award for the Paisley Abbey Window.
2001 Jan. Bene Award - Highest Award for Exellence for The Millenium Window
2003 Dec. Awarded Honorary Doctorate - University of Paisley
